Swine & Sheep Show

General Information
A concession stand will be available.
-Belt buckles will be awarded to showmanship champion &
reserve champion winners in 4 age divisions. Pee Wee, 7-9,
10-13 and 14 and older. Ages are as of Jan. 1st.
-Buckles will also be presented to champion & reserve
champion lamb and hog.
-Open to Kansas 4-H & FFA club members. Exhibitors may
not have reached their 19th birthday by Jan. 1st, 2008.
-You must own & show your own animal. In the event that the owner has been injured prior to the show (i.e. broken leg or
ankle) another 4-H’er may show the animal.
-Generators are encouraged. Power is in short supply.
-No bedding of any kind is permitted in cattle, sheep or hog
barns. Bedding used outside must be cleaned up.
-No protests allowed. Judges’ decisions are final.
-Please clean your area before you leave.
-Please no parking under the barns.
-Exhibitors are responsible for their animals and tack.
-Exhibitors will be asked to sign “Thank You’s”.
-Animals with obvious health problems will be dismissed.
-Pigs will show first followed by Sheep.


Entry Fees: Postmarked by: Thursday, May 22, 2008
-Fees must accompany pre-entries.
-$15.00 per lamb.
-$15.00 per hog.
-Entries and money not POSTMARKED by required date will
pay double fees.
-Cash only day of the show.
-No refunds will be given.

Swine & Sheep Show
- Barrows or gilts may be shown.
- Wethers or ewes may be shown.
- Show will begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008.
- Early weigh in is encouraged to ensure prompt start time.
- All hogs must weigh in from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.
- Sheep weigh in from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
- All pigs must have an official 4-H ear tag and lambs must be
4-H tagged and have official USDA scrappies tag from the
breeder in order to show.
- Sheep will be shown slick sheared.
- Sheep show will start directly after pig show and a 30
minute break.
- Show order: Swine - Pee-wee showmanship, 14 & up showmanship, 10-13 showmanship , 7-9 showmanship, hog
show, champion hogs selected, Sheep - Pee-wee showmanship, 14 & up showmanship, 10-13 showmanship ,
7-9 showmanship, sheep show, champion lambs selected.
- Pre-entries are encouraged. Must be postmarked by Thursday, May 22, 2008.

- Open to KS 4-H & FFA club members. Exhibitors may not have reached their 19th birthday by Jan. 1st, 2008.
- You must own & show your own animal. In the event that the owner has been injured prior to the show (i.e. broken leg or ankle) another 4-H’er may show the animal.

Beef Show
- Show will begin at 9:00 a.m., Sunday, May 11, 2008.
- Show order: bucket calves 7-9, bucket calves 10-12 yrs., 2nd year bucket calf heifers, breeding heifers, supreme heifer, showmanship pee-wee, showmanship 14 and up, showmanship 10-13, showmanship 7-9, 2nd year bucket calf steers, market animal, champion market animal.
- Entry and weigh in 6:30-8:00 a.m. NO entries taken after 8:00 a.m.
- All heifers excluding commercial must have registration papers at check in or will not be allowed to show except as commercial heifers.
- There will be a 2nd year bucket calf class for steers and heifers. Entries in these classes WILL NOT show in a market or breeding class.
- Breed association rules will be used. Registration or breeder’s certificates (where applicable) are required.
- Pre-entries are encouraged. Must be postmarked by MONDAY, May 5th, 2008.

Meat Goat Show

- Wethers and does may be shown for the goat show. Show will begin immediately following a 30 minute break after the beef show.
- All meat goats must be weighed in from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
- All Goats must have 4-H ear tags and they must also have an official USDA Premise tag from the breeder in order to show.
- Goats will be shown clipped to 3/8" or less.
- Show order: showmanship pee-wee, showmanship 14 and up, showmanship 10-13, showmanship 7-9, goat show and champion goat selected.
- Pre-entries are encouraged. Must be postmarked by MONDAY, May 5th, 2008.
