GENERAL RULES

1. In no event shall the sponsors or directors of this show be held responsible for any loss or damage to the property or person or the exhibitor or other person while on the fairgrounds regardless of the cause. All diligence will be used to prevent loss or mishap.
2. All decisions of the Show Committee are final.
3. The decision of the judges will be final.
4. Exhibitors must show their own animals in showmanship and breed classes, the exception being that they have two animals one breed class.
5. All animals will be judged as show prospects.
6. All animals must be tagged as 4-H/FFA animals.
7. All exhibitors are expected to clean their stall areas up at the close of the show.
8. Pre-entries are due by Monday, May 7.
9. Showmanship will be divided in the following age categories:
Senior Division - 14 - 18 years of age
Intermediate Division - 10 - 13 years of age
Junior division - 7 - 9 years of age
10. Showmanship is based on 4-H age as of
      January 1, 2008.
SWINE SPECIFIC RULES
1. Prospect market hogs must be barrows or gilts. Market hogs will be shown by sex and breeds, but must have 5 to make a class or will be shown as AOB or crossbreeds.
2. Swine of Kansas origin are not required to have a negative pseudorabies and brucellosis test. Swine originating from other states must meet one of the following requirements:
- Originate from a qualified pseudorabies- free/validated brucellosisfree herd.
- Originate from a State of Stage IV or V status.
- Show evidence on the health certificate that swine have been tested within 30 days prior to entry into
    Kansas.
SWINE SHOW AWARDS
- Showmanship - All showmanship exhibitors will receive a show brush, plus blue, red or white ribbons.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Showmen in each division will receive a custom award.
- Breed Champion Swine will receive a custom award.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Barrow will receive a custom award.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Gilt will receive a custom award.
- Grand Champion will receive $60.00 cash, & Reserve Grand Champion will receive $40.00 cash.
SHEEP SPECIFIC RULES
1. Prospect market lambs must be wethers or ewe lambs.
2. Slick shearing is required for all prospect market lambs.
3. Prospect market lambs will be shown by breeds, but must have 5 to make a class or will be shown as crossbreeds.
4. Ewe lambs may enter both market and breeding classes if entry fees are paid for both.
5. All lambs will be health checked at weigh-in. The Show Committee has the right to dismiss all sheep with sore mouth or fungus lesions.
SHEEP SHOW AWARDS
- Showmanship - All showmanship exhibitors will receive a halter plus blue, red or white ribbons.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Showmen in each division will receive a custom award.
- Breed Champion Sheep will receive a custom award.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Ewe will receive a custom award.
- Grand Champion will receive $60.00 cash, & Reserve Grand Champion will receive & $40.00 cash.
GOAT SPECIFIC RULES
1. Prospect meat goats may be wethers or does.
2. All goats will be health checked at weigh-in. The Show Committee has the right to dismiss all goats with sore mouth or fungus lesions.
3. Goats will be shown clipped to 3/8" of hair.
4. Exhibitors are encouraged to show with a chain.
5. Goats are not eligible for the SWKLC Circuit
GOAT SHOW AWARDS
- Showmanship - All showmanship exhibitors will receive a halter plus blue, red or white ribbons.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Showmen in each division will receive a custom award.
- Grand Champion will receive $60.00 cash, & Reserve Grand Champion will receive $40.00 cash.
BEEF SPECIFIC RULES
1. Exhibitors must furnish their own bedding, feed, and equipment. No bedding will be allowed in the show barn stalls. Cattle must be bedded on sand in this building.
2. Absolutely no blocking chutes in the steer barn.
3. All animals will be free of infectious diseases or they will be dismissed from the grounds. All Breeding Heifers must be calfhood vaccinated.
4. Cattle will be shown by breeds, but must have 5 to make a class or will be shown as AOB or crossbreeds.
5. All registered heifers must be permanently identified with a legible tattoo corresponding to registration papers in the name of the exhibitor. All commercial heifers require an official 4-H ear tag.
6. Heifers shown in the market heifer class are not eligible to show in the commercial breeding heifer class.
7. 1st year bucket calves must be born after January 1, 2007. 1st year bucket calf exhibitors are limited to one calf, and are not eligible to show in showmanship classes.
8. 2nd year bucket calves may be steers or heifers.  2nd year bucket calves must be tagged with a 4-H ear tag and are eligible for overall market beef award.
BEEF SHOW AWARDS
- 1st year bucket calves will receive a rope halter and ribbon of their choice.
- Showmanship - All showmanship exhibitors will receive a halter or neck rope, plus blue, red or white
   ribbons.
- Champion & Reserve Champion Showmen in each division will receive a custom award.
- Mkt. Beef & Heifer Classes will receive numerical placing ribbons.
- Breed Champion Mkt. Beef and Breeding Heifers will receive a custom award.
- Grand Champion Breeding Heifer will receive $75.00 cash, & Reserve Grand
   Champion Breeding Heifer will receive $50.00 cash.
- Grand Champion Mkt. Beef will receive $75.00 cash, & Reserve Grand Champion
  Mkt. Beef will receive $50.00 cash.

be placed in classes by weight.
   
  BEEF SHOW
Beef Weigh-In 11:00 - 12:00 noon
   
1st yr. Bucket Calf 30 minutes after the goat show.
   
Heifer Show Heifers will be shown by breed and age. All registered heifers must be permanently identified with a legible tattoo corresponding to registration papers in the name of the exhibitor. All Commercial Heifers require an official 4-H ear tag.

Prospect Show All steers and market heifers will be weighed upon arrival at the fairgrounds and will be assigned to classes according to weight. All Market Steers and Market Heifers require an official 4-H ear tag.
